Chapter 7 discusses gay, lesbian, and bisexual relationships as well as STI, HIV, and AIDS.
Interesting/Unusual Items:
I found Chapter 7 to be interesting and very informing. It went into depth with how sex starts to finish. From how sex make you feel to the results is not properly protecting yourself. It expressed why in today’s society we should protect ourselves while having sex, no matter of sexual preference. Anyone can be a victim of unprotected sex.
Discussion:
Why is that people continue to have sex knowing that there is a chance that they can contract a disease and possibly one that will never go away? After all the commercials and resources why are people killing themselves?
I think people still have (unprotected) sex for a number of reasons, chief among them the fact that it's enjoyable. I would guess most people recognize that there are risks associated with pretty much anything in life, but they try not to let that realization get in the way of things that they want to do. Some get caught up in the moment, some think 'it can't happen to me,' and others just don't care. There are probably loads of other reasons people throw caution to the wind when it comes to corporal pleasure; it's a carnal/instinctual desire to participate in coitus.
ReplyDeleteI believe there are many reasons people have sex. For starters it's socially acceptable, if not pushed. Sex between two people who are in love is different than sex between two people who don't know each other well; sex is a matter of personal choice. That being said I think people don't truly THINK before they engage in sexual intercourse, however education programs in schools probably stressed careful sexual encounters. At the end of the day, however, I believe the statistic for diseases is skewed. I think people having sex is in no way "killing themselves."
