future of the family

The article I found was called The Future of The Family and The Fate of Our Children, and was on a website called Love Without Limits. It's based on what family life could be like around the year 2030. One of the first issues it discusses is family roles. It brings up the question of who will be there to take care of the children and house if the traditional role of the woman is changing. Another concern is that of money. People are becoming increasingly more focused on making money, how might this play out in the future? It goes on to discuss a new type of family that might be good for the future. The author calls it a "combo" family. This would be able to better fit the lifestyles of men, women, and children. It would involve a combination of adults in a sort of relationship, ranging from about 3 to 8. Of course, this wouldn't be able to be a legal "marriage" right now, but some form of commitment would be made. All the children would live together with these parents. The thought it that if there were that many people it would make it easier to share the workload. A couple of the adults might be able to stay home with the kids, as long as the others had secure jobs. Kids could also split up chores more, so that one wouldn't be overwhelmed taking care of all the others. While there's a lot of positives for the children, there's also a lot for adults, including saving money from childcare and house costs, and also solutions to things such as infertility. It could also provide good education for all with cooperation and working in groups, and other areas.
Overall, this article presents a well-structured idea for a way that the family could be in the future to benefit everyone. For more details on it and a more thorough description here's the link for anyone who is interested. http://www.lovewithoutlimits.com/articles/The_Future_of_The_Family.html

  1. I forgot to add the other sections,

What I thought was really interesting was how much money could really be saved by doing this. With only one house to care for it would provide so much extra money to save for things like sending kids to college or retirement.

And, one question I had was just what do people think of this? Is this something that might be normal in the future? Or is it too far fetched to think that this many people could live together and it be successful?
