Are women or men more romantic?
Research showed that men were more romantic than women and those women were more likely to expect some trappings of romantic love. Men obviously are because they have to be romantic to appease the women. Women do not have to be romantic to appease the men because they are busy being wooed by men. Gender roles allow this romantic love to occur and allow men to take the lead when it comes to romance.

This is an interesting statement. I believe men do have to be more romantic but then again I believe they enjoy it less. This could be due to the way media portrays men and women in romantic comedy. Usually the guy is sex-orientated all of the time and the woman has the decision to allow him or deny him acess to "her goods". I also don't really see this construct as unfair to men because usually we live by the set up double standard that women face every day--men are pimps if promiscuous and women are sluts. I think this is far worse then the romantic aspect men are expected to fulfill to obtain women.
