Since the bibles that man and women were made in "God's image," we can conclude that God has both the attributes of males and females. He plays the roles that he assigns Adam: protector, leader, and provider. He also displays the characteristics that he assigns to Eve: compassion, nurturing, merciful.
A couple weeks ago, a lady stopped me in the streets asking me if she could talk to me about our "Mother God." She pulled out several Bible verses to prove to me that her religion was right, but only a few stuck out to me:
"The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.' And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price" Revalation 22:17
In this passage, the women thought God was the "bride" John refers to here. However, earlier in Revelation we can see that the bride is actually holy Jerusalem: "'Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.' And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God..." Revelation 21:9-10.
"Then God said, 'Let us make man in OUR image...'" Genesis 1:26
The women pointed out that God says our instead of my in this passage, therefore he must have a wife. She failed to realize that God was referring to the trinity here.
